Students live in one of or two beautiful residences, one for the girls, the other for the boys. Staff are on hand in each house 24/7 for the safety, security, comfort and enjoyment of the students. However, this is not a host family; students learn to be, and have the opportunity to be, more independent individuals in a setting which is ideal for preparing them for life at university or the world outside education, where independence is vital.
Buckswood St George’s College, with its tall ceilings and large windows, is a solid nineteenth century house providing airy, light classrooms and sleeping accommodation where a family of international students live, make friends and study.
Personal and pastoral care are priorities at the college. With a live-in House-mother for the girls and a House-Father for the boys, great attention is paid to the students individual needs.
All students are encouraged to keep fit by joining the gym, running along the sea front, or learning to horse ride. They can join the college football team and play in the weekly local league games. Our students are offered the chance to participate in as many different extra curricula activities as possible.
There are social areas for the students to relax in and a student kitchen- the perfect preparation for university living.
